Saturdays @ 11:45 AM
The Salvation Army in downtown San Jose
Sometimes we forget how fortunate we are to not have to worry about necessities like food, shelter, and clothing.
Outreach to the homeless and those who are under-resourced in our downtown community is the focus of this ministry. We meet at The Salvation Army in downtown San Jose every Saturday to serve lunch. You can be involved by joining us personally or by making a tax deductible donation to FCC (indicate "Homeless Ministry" on the check). Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Hands-on service includes serving food, encouraging and praying for people, and cleaning up afterwards.
Donations of clothing, bedding (blankets, sleeping bags), and toiletries are accepted as well. These items cannot be stored at the church during the week, but you may bring them with you any Saturday you serve with us.
