Children's Pastor

My name is Stephanie Harvey and I have been a member of FCC for years.  I grew up in San Jose, California and have lived here most of my life.  In fact, as a young girl I used to ride my bike on the very hill on which FCC is built!  I am married to my best friend, Ken, and we have four children:  Taylor, Michael, Joshua, and Faith.  I can honestly say I have been through every child developmental and parenting stage in my home!

I came to know the Lord when I was a child but actually made Him the Lord of my life when I was 17.  It was at that time I started serving and taught my first Sunday School class.  When my husband and I felt led to join FCC in 2003, I started volunteering in the Children's Ministry within a year.  I never left!

Today, what keeps me going is the mission field.  I believe there is a mission field inside of our church walls.  According to George Barna, most children believe that they are Christians because they come to church on Sunday morning.  My goal is for kids to want to come to know Christ in a deep and intimate way and have an experiential relationship with Him in their lives.

My hope and prayer is that each child, as they come to experience Christ in a new and meaningful way, learns to trust Him so they allow Him to direct their path for the rest of their lives.  To God be the glory!
